Norwich City will today meet with representatives of winger Jacob Murphy as the player looks to secure a move to Newcastle this summer, according to Sky Sports News HQ

The sports news broadcaster claim on the live transfer blog on their website (10:20, 13/07/2017) that the 22-year-old is very keen on securing a move to the top flight with the Magpies, and has sent people on his behalf to discuss the potential move.

Newcastle have made Murphy one of their top targets this summer, and are said to be readying a new £10million ‘take-it-or-leave-it’ offer to try and convince Norwich to sell up after they saw an £8million bid rejected.

The initial bid made was half of what Norwich value the England Under-21 international at, but the Magpies are unwilling to splash £16million on a player who has no Premier League experience and just 46 Championship appearances under his belt.

A wide man with the ability to operate on either flank, Murphy’s breakthrough came last season, as he went on to make 40 appearances across all competitions for Norwich, scoring eight times and tallying another eight assists.

His good form earned him a call-up to the England Under-21 squad for their Under-21 European Championship campaign, and he played in all four matches, scoring once in their 3-0 win over Poland.
