OPINION

Thomas Christiansen should use Manchester United’s reserve side as a scouting pool to continue his influx of signing at Leeds but must look elsewhere to Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.

Radio Yorkshire correspondent Joe Rawson claimed on his personal Twitter account last week that the Yorkshire giants had contacted their bitter rivals over taking the 20-year-old on loan for the entire 2017-18 season.

However, the England Under-20 international endured a dismal campaign on loan at Wolves last season, making just six appearances as he struggled to make an impression under either Walter Zenga or Paul Lambert.

That should convince Christiansen that Borthwick-Jackson is simply not good enough for Championship football yet and would be well advised to pursue other targets in order to replace Charlie Taylor at left-back.

However, This Is Futbol believes Leeds should continue their transfer overhaul and try to bring three of Borthwick-Jackson’s teammates to Elland Road instead in order to bolster a promotion push next season.
