Manchester United attacker Adnan Januzaj will be announced as a Real Sociedad player on Wednesday, according to the Telegraph.

The newspaper claim that Januzaj, 22, has finalised the paperwork of a £9.8million transfer to the La Liga side as he aims to reignite a career that once promised so much.

The Telegraph report that the Belgium international will leave United following a dramatic fall from grace since bursting on to the scene four seasons ago, when he was tipped to be a world beater.

It is said that the young playmaker is to be unveiled by Sociedad following the completion of negotiations and there is unlikely to be a buy-back clause in the contract.

Januzaj appeared to have the world at his feet in the autumn of 2013 when he announced himself on the scene with a series of eyecatching goals and performances during David Moyes’ one season in charge.

He signed a five-year contract but he was not able to live up to this initial promise and his attitude and commitment were frequently questioned by his club and international managers.

Disastrous loans at Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland did not arrest the lack of progress and United have now reportedly decided to cash in on the left-footer with a year remaining on his contract.

Manager Jose Mourinho has made it clear that the six-times international has no future at Old Trafford and he was left out of United’s 27-man squad that travelled to the United States for a pre-season tour last Sunday that will last three weeks.

Januzaj made a total of 63 appearances for the club, contributing with five goals and six assists in all competitions.
