Leeds United are serious contenders to sign Chelsea youngster Mario Pasalic during the summer transfer window, according to ABC de Sevilla.

The Spanish newspaper claims that the Yorkshire club are firmly in the race to land the 22-year-old midfielder this summer.

The report claims that the youngster is attracting interest from teams all across Europe including SPL champions Celtic, Italian outfit Lazio and Turkish giants Galatasaray.

However, it is said that the player is currently in advanced negotiations with La Liga side Real Betis but there has not been a concrete offer for the midfielder, who is valued at over £8million.

It is reported that Pasalic is keen on plying in trade in Spain next season as he is eager to work with new Beits manager Quique Setien.

Leeds seem determined to add more firepower to the squad next season as the Yorkshire Evening Post recently reported that attacking midfielder Samuel Saiz is set to complete a deal to Elland Road next week.

Pasalic joined the West London club three years ago but he has spent most of his Chelsea career out on loan.

The Croatian impressed during his short loan spell with Italian giants AC Milan last season, scoring five goals and providing one assist in 27 appearances in all competitions.

The youngster’s current contract at Stamford Bridge runs out at the end of next season.
