Leeds United have opened preliminary talks to sign Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, according to a reliable journalist.
Radio Yorkshire correspondent Rawson has claimed on his personal Twitter account the Championship club have started negotiations with United about taking the left-back on loan for the upcoming season.

Rawson, who is a reliable source of Leeds transfer news, explained that it is not likely to be a quick deal, as is often the case for lower league clubs trying to secure deal from those in the top division before the season has got underway.
May take a while to get resolved as if often the case with loan players from prem clubs at this stage of the window #lufc

Nevertheless, Leeds have been given hope that Borthwick-Jackson can be prised from Old Trafford after he was omitted from the 27-man squad that manager Jose Mourinho has taken to the United States for the club’s three-week pre-season tour.
The squad announced on the official United website featured a number of players who can play in his left-back position and is a blow to the youngster’s hopes of figuring for the Premier League giants in 2017-18.
This strongly suggests that United will listen to permanent or loan offers for Borthwick-Jackson, who has three years remaining on his contract.
The defender broke into the team under Louis van Gaal in 2015-16 but spent last season on loan in the Championship with Wolves, where he made only seven appearances, and spent the second half of the campaign playing for United’s under-23s.
Leeds are in the market for a left-sided defender after Charlie Taylor completed a transfer to Burnley on Thursday for a fee to be settled by a tribunal.
Gaetano Berardi was used on the left side of defence with some success in the second half of last season but he is predominantly a right-back.
