Leeds in running to sign Snodgrass

Leeds United are in the running to re-sign attacking midfielder Robert Snodgrass, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.

Sky Bet priced the Championship big hitters at 12/1 on Sunday night to land the West Ham player, 29, before the transfer window shuts at the start of September.

Leeds are narrowly behind only three clubs in the betting to sign Snodgrass, favourites and bitter rivals Sheffield Wednesday (5/1), Premier League new boys Brighton (7/1) and recently relegated Middlesbrough (10/1).

This comes after the Mirror reported that West Ham are willing to listen to offers for the Scotland international, who earns £50,000-a-week, just months after paying Hull City £10million for his services.

Snodgrass made little impact for Slaven Bilic’s side following his January arrival but was Hull’s outstanding player in the first half of last season, when he scored an impressive seven Premier League goals.

The winger is fondly remembered at Leeds, where he spent four years following his arrival from Livingston in the summer of 2008 for £250,000.

He scored 41 goals and supplied 40 assists in 187 appearances for the Yorkshire giants before moving to Norwich for a fee of around £2.7million.
