West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini has said he believes the Hammers’ newest signing, Pablo Zabaleta, is one of the best right-backs in the Premier League.
The 32-year-old is currently Slaven Bilic’s only recruit during the summer transfer window after the Argentinian moved from Manchester City on a free transfer.
Zabaleta initially joined the Manchester club back in 2008 from Espanyol, and he went on to make a total of 333 appearances across all competitions before moving down to London in a two-year-deal.
The Argentina international won two Premier League titles at the Etihad and new team mate Lanzini believes he will be a fantastic addition at the London Stadium.
The 24-year-old playmaker told the Evening Standard that he had been in contact with his fellow countryman, and was quoted on the newspaper’s website: “It is very good for me to have someone from Argentina join the club! We have spoken many times, he is a very good person and a very good player.
“I think he is one of the best right-backs in the Premier League, he has been here for nine years, which is amazing.
