Newly promoted Premier League club Huddersfield are set to sign Chelsea youngster Kasey Palmer on loan, according to a reliable journalist.

Telegraph correspondent John Percy claims in a message on his personal Twitter account that the Terriers are ready to re-sign the 20-year-old attacking midfielder on loan, after he spent the 2016-17 campaign at the club.

Percy states in the same message that Huddersfield are also weighing up a £8million bid to sign Chelsea’s 20-year-old striker Izzy Brown as well.

Both players spent the 2016-17 campaign on loan at the Kirklees Stadium, and they played a major part in the club’s promotion to the Premier League.

Palmer was one of the Terriers’ top performers last term, scoring five goals in 27 appearances across all competitions, as well as providing three assists.

The 20-year-old joined the Blues’ academy from Charlton in 2013, and he has since risen through the various youth sides, but he is yet to feature for the first team.

Palmer has been capped on four occasions by England Under-21s, but he missed out on the squad that travelled to the European Under-21 Championships this summer.

Brown was also a mainstay of Huddersfield’s side last season, and he played 41 league and cup games for the club, which yielded eight goals and six assists.

The pacey striker joined Chelsea’s academy in 2013 from West Brom, but he has only appeared once for the senior team to date.
