Italian giants Inter Milan are keeping tabs on Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori, according to a Sky Sports journalist.

Sky Sports Italy correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio has reported on his personal website that the Serie A side are looking to add some defensive cover to the squad next season and they are currently monitoring the 26-year-old.

The report claims that Inter are tracking the defender’s recovery process after he missed the final two months of last season due to a terrible knee injury he suffered in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool at Anfield.

The Italian outfit endured a tough campaign last season as they missed out on the European places by a single point to arch rivals AC Milan.

Everton might be willing to let the Argentine leave the club this summer after they secured the signing of central defender Michael Keane from fellow Premier League side Burnley.

The 24-year-old was the latest player to sign for Everton during what has been a whirlwind of transfer activity when he arrived on Monday.

Funes Mori did not appear to impress new boss Ronald Koeman with his performances last season as he only managed to start 15 Premier League games.

The defender will be hopeful that he can make a speedy recovery ahead of the following campaign as he will be looking to be part of the Argentina national team to compete in next year’s World Cup in Russia.

The Argentine’s contract at Goodison Park runs out in 2020.
