Chelsea have managed to tie down promising young midfielder Callum Hudson-Odoi to a three year deal in a bid to ward off interest from top European sides, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claim on their website that the 16-year-old attacking midfielder had been drawing a “frenzy” of interest from the likes of Portuguese giants Benfica and Champions League runners-up Juventus after impressing for the youth side at Stamford Bridge last season.

Able to play through the middle or on either flank, the youngster has been at Chelsea since signing for their Under-9s side, and has progressed his way through the youth ranks to playing for their Under-18s.

He enjoyed a successful season, scoring eight goals and chipping in with nine assists over 24 appearances across all competitions.

His impressive performances helped the Blues pick up both the U18 Premier League title and the FA Youth Cup, with Hudson-Odoi scoring in the second leg of the final against Manchester City.

The midfielder also has a great amount of experience at international level, having appeared 15 times for the U17 side since making his debut back in September 2016.

He scored four goals in those fixtures, including the opener in the U17 European Championship final, which saw England lose 6-3 on penalties to Spain after a 2-2 draw in normal time.
