Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi has squashed rumours that he could be leaving the London club this summer by tweeting a tongue-in-cheek video message to fans.

The 23-year-old striker has said that he has no plans on making a departure from Stamford Bridge as the club is “literally” in his blood.

Batshuayi tweeted a video on his official Twitter account on Monday which showed the striker undergoing a blood test on his return to pre-season training with the Premier League winners.

The Belgian international said in his message, which accompanied the video, that people ask him which club he’s moving to but Chelsea were literally in his blood, along with a needle emoji and blue love heart to symbolise the London club.

Batshuayi’s future with the club has appeared up in the air with reports he is surplus to requirements after making just a single Premier League start for Chelsea, which was during the second to last game of the season against Watford.

The forward joined the club last summer from Marseille in a deal worth just over £33 million and during his debut season with the Blues he made a total of 29 appearances, many of which were late substitutions, and also scored 11 goals across all competitions.

The Belgium international and his team mates returned to pre-season training on Monday, but fellow Chelsea man Diego Costa was a noted absentee from the training ground suggesting that he could be the player to be leaving soon.
