Exeter City starlet Ethan Ampadu has signed for Chelsea, it has been confirmed.
The 16-year-old centre-back has put pen-to-paper on a professional contract with the Blues, after turning down the offer of a new deal at the Grecians.
It is said the clubs are currently in talks over a transfer fee for Ampadu, because although he is out of contract at Exeter, he is under the age of 24 so a compensation fee needs to be paid.
The League Two club hope a compensation deal can be agreed, so there is no need to take the transfer to a tribunal.
Exeter announced the news on their official website and on their official Twitter account on Saturday morning.

Ampadu made his full debut for the Grecians aged just 15 in a League Cup match against Championship outfit Brentford.
He then broke into the first team last summer, and went on to make 13 appearances across all competitions for the club in the 2016-17 campaign.
Ampadu won Wales’ Young Player of the Year award in 2016, beating the likes of Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn and Regan Poole of Manchester United.
The 16-year-old has been capped on three occasions by Wales Under-19s, and he trained with the senior squad ahead of their 2016 European Championships campaign.
