Arsenal have tabled a big offer for Nice defender Dalbert, according to a Sky Sports journalist.

Sky Sports Italy correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio has reported on his personal website that the North London club have placed a huge bid on the table for the 23-year-old but he stopped short of revealing the amount.

It is also reported that the Gunners will face competition to land the full-back as Serie A giants Inter Milan are also interested in signing the youngster.

Arsenal have already managed to complete the deal for one full-back this summer as they signed Sead Kolasinac from German side Schalke on a free transfer.

Manager Arsene Wenger is likely to stick to a back three at the start of the upcoming campaign and he is going to need some natural full-backs in the squad to get the best out of the system.

Dalbert enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in the top tier of French football after signing for a fee of just £2million from Portugese club Vitória de Guimarães, making a total of 38 appearances in all competitions and contributing with four assists.

The Brazilian’s contribution helped Nice to secure a top three finish and guarantee Champions League football for the first time in their history.

Nice also boasted the third best defensive record in the entire league, conceding a total of 36 goals throughout the entire campaign.

Dalbert’s current contract with the French side expires in 2021.
