Manchester City fans have called for the club to announce the signing of Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy following the completed transfer of Douglas Luiz.
The club confirmed the signing of midfield enforcer Luiz, 19, from Vasco Da Gama on their official website on Saturday.
The Brazil Under-20 international penned a five-year-deal with the club after he completed a successful medical, and the club stated on their official website that they would make a statement about Luiz’ development within the next few days.
City fans have taken to Twitter to express their thoughts on the club’s newest signing and while some supporters welcomed Luiz, other’s stated their disappointment that Monaco defender Mendy wasn’t announced instead.

The teenage sensation impressed during a small amount of appearances last season for the Brazilian outfit, and made a total of 10 appearances where he scored just once.
Luiz is Pep Guardiola’s fourth signing of the transfer window and will join fellow recent signing Kyle Walker from Tottenham in addition to Benfica keeper Ederson and Monaco’s Bernardo Silva.
Guardiola has been working to bolster his squad ahead of Man City’s 2017/18 campaign and Mendy could be the next recruit as the Daily Mail has reported that the manager hopes to secure the left-back in time to join the squad on their pre-season tour.
