Leeds would finally end their 13-year stint in the Football League if they can pull out all the stops to beat Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham to the signature of former Elland Road winger Aaron Lennon.

The Daily Mail claims Birmingham are keen on taking the 30-year-old on loan this summer, which would see Redknapp form a reunion with the 21-time England international after working with him at Tottenham.

It is said that the pocket-sized attacker is keen to get his career back on track after being detained under the Mental Health Act last season, which saw him miss a large chunk of the 2016-17 campaign.

Lennon has since fallen down the pecking order at Goodison Park, with new signing Henry Onyekuru, Kevin Mirallas, Yannick Bolasie and Ademola Lookman all ahead of him in Ronald Koeman’s thoughts.

Now, This Is Futbol considers why Leeds head coach Thomas Christiansen would significantly bolster the Yorkshire giants’ chances of promotion with the signing of Lennon.
