Leeds must push aside rivalries this summer by doing business with Premier League champions Chelsea over a season-long loan deal for defender Kenneth Omeruo.

The 23-year-old is likely to leave Stamford Bridge on loan once again in the coming months after spending the 2016-17 campaign with Turkish top tier side Alanyaspor, where he made 26 top-flight appearances.

A 33-time Nigeria international, Omeruo is way down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, behind the likes of Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Kurt Zouma, and has just two years remaining on his contract to change that.

He could do that on loan with Leeds, who have already made four signings in goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald, youngster Madger Gomes, playmaker Mateusz Klich and a permanent deal for speed machine Hadi Sacko.

This Is FutbolĀ believes Whites manager Thomas Christiansen will now focus on his defence and signing Omeruo will give Leeds the added steeliness needed to secure promotion for three separate reasons.
