Celtic would give themselves every chance of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League by rivalling Man City for the signature of Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina.

The Daily Mail claims Manchester City have made an offer of £2.6million for the 34-year-old stopper, which has since been rejected as the Serie A outfit have valued Reina at £4.4million.

It is believed Pep Guardiola’s side are looking for cover for new signing Ederson Moraes, with offers likely to be strongly considered for flop goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

Reina is also said to be in talks with his current side, but is yet to agree terms on a new deal that will see him extend his current contract which expires in less than 12 months.

This Is Futbol believes Celtic should capitalise on City’s rejected bid and offer Napoli what they are asking for in order to bring Reina to Glasgow, as they look to secure a second successive treble next season.
