Former Leeds United head coach Garry Monk is reportedly set to be appointed as the new manager at rivals Middlesbrough, but Leeds fans are still fuming at his departure.
BBC Sport revealed on their website Friday afternoon that the 38-year-old had signed a long-term deal at the Riverside, after emerging as Middlesbrough’s first-choice candidate.
It was further reported by the BBC that an official announcement can be expected later on Friday, but it appears inevitable that Monk is destined for a swift return to management with the Championship club.
However, Leeds fans, who are still reeling from his shock resignation last month, have taken to social media to unleash their fury at the reportedly imminent appointment.

Middlesbrough have been on the hunt for a full-time manager following the departure of Aitor Karanka in March, at a time when the club were languishing in the Premier League relegation zone.
His assistant Steve Agnew was handed control of the first-team until the end of the season, but after failing to lead the club to safety, Middlesbrough opted against handing Agnew a more permanent position.
But they have since turned their attention to Monk, who resigned from his role as Leeds United manager at the end of the last month, after just one year in charge.
The former Swansea City manager had led Leeds to the brink of a Championship play-off place, only for a poor run of form at the end of the season to end their hopes of promotion.
They finished seventh in the league, five points adrift of the play-offs, and are also currently on the hunt for new leadership.
Sky Sports News HQ reporter Keith Downie, meanwhile, has claimed on his personal Twitter account that Monk’s “long-term” deal equates to a three-year contract.
Garry Monk has signed a 3-year deal to become Middlesbrough "manager" rather than "Head Coach" as Karanka was. Announcement later today.
