Leeds United attacker Souleymane Doukara has backed Hadi Sacko to “rip up” the Championship after his arrival at the club.

Doukara took to his personal Twitter account on Friday to welcome his “good friend” Sacko back to the club, after his loan deal at Elland Road was made permanent.

He said: “Now me and my good friend staying at Leeds. Time to rip up this league.”

Leeds had confirmed on their official website on Friday morning that Sacko had signed a three-year-deal at the club, becoming their first summer signing.

The 23-year-old spent the duration of the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Leeds from Sporting Lisbon, but has done enough to earn himself a permanent stay, which has now been confirmed.

Sacko had scored two goals and supplied four assists from 42 appearances last term, and his Leeds team-mate Doukara has urged him to “rip up” the league next season.

Doukara, meanwhile, added six goals and four assists from 39 appearances, as Leeds ultimately struggled to support leading centre-forward Chris Wood on the goalscoring front.

The New Zealand international was the club’s top goalscorer with 30 goals in all competitions, but Doukara and defender Kyle Bartley were the next best with only six goals each.

Leeds finished seventh in the Championship last season, and they will be determined to build upon their success next term, despite the loss of manager Garry Monk.
