Celtic are reportedly closing in on the signing of Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes, but fans on Twitter are not at all convinced.
The Scottish Sun claimed on Wednesday that Aberdeen had accepted a bid worth £1.3million from Celtic for the signature of the 29-year-old assist king, as the defending champions look to begin their summer transfer business.
Hayes scored 11 goals and 24 assists from 44 appearances in all competitions last season as Aberdeen reached two domestic cup Finals and finished runners-up in the Scottish Premiership.
He is under contract at the club for another two years, but could be set to seal a switch to their Scottish rivals in the coming weeks, after an agreement was reportedly reached over a transfer fee.
However, Celtic fans are concerned that the club aren’t showing enough ambition by signing Hayes, urging manager Brendan Rodgers to bring in players to aid their Champions League campaign.

Hayes. Best player outside Celtic but is he any better than say Forrest? Not exactly gonna improve much at his age. Hopefully it's a no go.

Feel like Celtic are signing Hayes just to take him out of Aberdeen. He's decent but don't see much between him and Forrest… #CelticFC

Hayes to Celtic is a terrible start to the close season in my opinion. Bang average.

English Championship outfit Cardiff City have closely rivalled Celtic for the signature of the Republic of Ireland international over the past six months.
However, it was revealed by Bluebirds manager Neil Warnock earlier this week that they were pulling the plug on their pursuit after growing frustrated at the lack of progress over a deal.
But the agreement with Celtic will also see Hoops midfielder Ryan Christie head in the opposite direction on a season-long loan, following a successful spell at Pittodrie during the second half of last season.
