Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha could be set to recruit another Portuguese player to his ranks this summer in Salvador Agra, according to O Jogo.

The Portuguese news outlet report that there is a “possibility” that the Benfica winger could be loaned out to the Scottish club, despite only joining the club on Wednesday.

Agra, 25, signed for Benfica from Nacional on a three-year deal, but is likely to be allowed to leave the Portuguese club on loan for next season.

Rangers are said to be waiting in the wings, with Portuguese chief Caixinha keeping a close eye on talent from his homeland in his bid to strengthen the first-team squad at Ibrox this summer.

But there is also interest from Vitoria Setubal, which will grant Agra an opportunity to remain in his home nation, where he has played during his entire professional career.

A move to Scotland, on the other hand, could offer Agra a chance to play in the Europa League next season, with Rangers set to begin their qualification campaign at the end of this month.

Caixinha has already added experienced defender Bruno Alves to his ranks, a player that has made 89 senior appearances for the Portugal national team, and Agra could be the second potential signing from his home nation.

Rangers have also confirmed the signing of midfielder Ryan Jack from Aberdeen, with Caixinha looking to complete much of his transfer business in time for the start of pre-season.
