Manchester City are confident of completing a deal for Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker after England’s Saturday clash against Scotland, according to the Daily Star.

The news publication details that the 27-year-old was made one of Pep Guardiola’s top targets six months a go and the Spaniard now wants a deal done before the end of this month.

It is also understood that Walker himself has chosen to move to the cash-rich Manchester club, so that he can move closer to his family, who still live in Sheffield.

It is reported that talks between both Tottenham and Manchester City have taken place, with City willing to meet the £40million asking price set by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

The experienced businessman is said to be reluctant to lose Walker this summer, but he does not view the right-back as irreplaceable, like he does star duo Dele Alli and Harry Kane.

It is also believed Manchester City will hand Walker a deal worth around £100,000-a-week, which is said to double his current wages in north London.

The 25-time capped England international made the switch to Tottenham in 2009 from Sheffield United in a £9million deal alongside Kyle Naughton.

He has played 229 times for Spurs in total and still has four years left on his contract with the club, but his time with Mauricio Pochettino’s side may now be reaching it’s end.
