Spaniard Victor Sanchez has emerged as the new favourite to become the next Leeds United manager – and supporters are underwhelmed at the possibility he could take over.
Sky Bet priced the 41-year-old former Spain international as 6/4 favourite for the vacant post on Sunday night, ahead of the most recent favourite Alan Pardew, whose price has drifted to 5/2, and Reading boss Jaap Stam, who has odds of 3/1.
The trio are a long way clear in the betting of Leeds assistant manager Pep Clotet, who is 10/1.
Leeds fans were surprised that the odds had narrowed so suddenly on Sanchez given his mediocre managerial in his three posts to date.
He has managed La Liga club Deportivo, where he was sacked after the team finished 15th in his only full season in charge, Greek giants Olympiacos and his most recent job at Real Betis, where he was dismissed in May for guiding the team to another 15th spot.
The Elland Road faithful took to social media to express their concern at Sanchez’s coaching record.

Ex Real Madrid and Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Sanchez brought his playing days to an end in 2008 at Elche before embarking on a coaching career that included three assistant manager posts before he became a number one for the first time at Deportivo in 2015.
Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani revealed on Twitter on Tuesday night that the club will start interviewing candidates for the vacant post this week as he insisted that time will be taken to find the correct candidate.
Garry Monk resigned as Leeds manager 17 days ago and has subsequently been appointed as the new manager of recently relegated Middlesbrough.
