Everton will allow manager Ronald Koeman the license to spend record amounts this summer as he plans to free up money for transfer funds and wages by axing four players, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The report details that forward Arouna Kone will be announced as released this week with his contract at the club set to expire at the end of June.

It is reported that the Ivory Coast international is earning around £40,000-a-week at the Merseyside club after joining from Wigan in the summer of 2013.

Meanwhile, Tom Cleverley’s departure has already been agreed with Watford and is said to be ratified on July 1 with Everton set to pocket a fee of £8million.

He is also said to be earning around £55,000-a-week after joining from Manchester United in 2015 and he will provide Koeman with a nice chunk of cash to look into rebuilding his team.

Furthermore, striker flop Oumar Niasse is also said to be up for sale this summer and he is understood to be being paid similar to Cleverley.

The Senegalese spent the second half of the last campaign at eventual relegated club Hull, scoring just five times in 19 appearances in total for the Tigers and it is said that they have turned down the opportunity to sign him permanently for £10million.

Lastly, Aiden McGeady is also said to be heading for the Everton exit doors after spending the previous season on loan in the Championship with Preston North End.

It is reported by the Echo that McGeady is surprisingly thought to be among the higher earners at Goodison Park, but is expected to move permanently to Preston in a £2million switch this summer.

There are also current doubts in regards to the futures of Gerard Deulofeu, James McCarthy, Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku at Everton this summer.

But, their names don’t feature in the report alongside the aforementioned four in regards to Koeman wielding his axe.
