Celtic are second favourites to sign Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.

Sky Bet have priced the Scottish Premier League champions at 6/1 to secure the signature of the 23-year-old during the summer transfer window as manager Brendan Rodgers looks to bring in some fresh faces to Celtic Park.

The Hoops are currently ahead of a host of English teams who are also credited with an interest in signing the defender this summer, with newly-promoted Brighton placed at 8/1, and both Liverpool and Middlesborough at 33/1.

Premier League side Burnley currently lead the way at a short price of 1/6 to sign the full-back this summer.

Sky Bet did not even place Celtic in the running to sign Taylor last week with bitter rivals Rangers being the only SPL side supposedly interested in signing the Leeds man.

Burnley appear to be winning the race to sign the youngster this summer as the Lancashire Evening Telegraph recently reported that Sean Dyche’s side are in advanced talks with Leeds over a potential deal.

The youngster was a first-team regular with the Yorkshire club last season and he produced some impressive performances, providing four assists in 32 appearances in all competitions.

Taylor’s future at Elland Road is likely to be resolved very soon as his contract at Elland Road is set to expire in the next six days.
