Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has told striker Olivier Giroud that he will not oppose a move away from the club for the striker, according to the Gambling Times.

The betting news website claim that the French manager has told his fellow countryman that with a number of attacking options expected to arrive at the Emirates Stadium this summer, the 30-year-old’s playing time could be limited.

However, the report claims that Wenger will only let the 63-time-capped France international go if the Gunners receive a suitable offer for his services, and already have replacements in at the club.

Giroud hit 16 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions last season, to take his total tally to 98 in his five seasons at the North London club.

There have been several top clubs who have reportedly shown interest in the target man, with London rivals West Ham reportedly ready to make a move.

The Mirror claims the Hammers are willing to offer Arsenal £20million for Giroud, in order to ward off interest from sides such as Marseille and Lyon, and this has seen betting agency Ladbrokes slash their odds to make Slaven Bilic’s side firm favourites for his signing.

The Gambling Times claim that the player would prefer to remain in London, and say that his representatives are looking into a number of potential moves, with Premier League sides Everton and West Brom both reportedly interested.
