Pep Guardiola will be entering his second season as Manchester City manager and will be looking to completely rebuild his defence.

Many expected City to win numerous trophies after Guardiola made the move to the Premier League club from Spanish giants Barcelona, but when they didn’t the new boss came under scrutiny.

The Spaniard looks to mix up his squad over the summer, with a reported budget of £300 million to bring in some new talent to the Etihad.

So far, City have signed Bernardo Silva from Monaco and goalkeeper Ederson from Benefica, and now the focus must shift onto the squad’s defence.

The City boss will be keen to rebuild his backline after he let the likes of Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy leave at the end of their contracts this month.

The Premier League big hitters have been strongly linked with a big-money swoop for Tottenham’s Kyle Walker but they should re-think that plan.

City will be unbeatable if Guardiola signs one of these three players ahead of their 2017/18 campaign, including a full-back he knows inside out:
