New arrival Ryan Jack insists he joined the club with the aim of seeing them back at the top of the Scottish football pyramid.

The 25-year-old sealed a move to Ibrox from Premiership rivals Aberdeen on June 1, where he put pen-to-paper on a three-year-deal at the Glasgow club.

He became manager Pedro Caixinha’s second summer signing, but first in the midfield positions, with the Portuguese adding a further three signings in the following two-week period.

But Jack has been forced to quickly integrate into the first-team setup at the club, as Rangers kicked-off their pre-season preparations with a comfortable 5-0 win over Coleraine in a friendly match on Thursday.

But the midfielder believes the club have made the right first impression with their attitude towards training and their preparations for the new season, and admits he has high hopes for the club.

He said, as quoted by the Evening Times: “I’ve only been in since Monday, so it’s still early doors. But they have looked great. My first impression is that training is of a really good quality.

“When you come to a club like Rangers, you know the demands straight away and what’s expected. I’m no different. I want to aim as high as I can.

“Everyone can see, with the signings that Rangers are making and what’s going on at the club that everyone is trying to do their bit to get the club back to the top.”

Jack played the first 45 minutes for Rangers during the recent friendly match, before Caixinha withdrew all eleven of his starting players at half-time. He was joined by fellow new arrivals Dalcio and Fabio Cardoso.

The former Scotland youth international scored 11 goals and supplied 11 assists from 250 appearances in all competitions during his time with Aberdeen.

But he quit the club upon the expiry of his contract at the end of last season, and was swiftly snapped up by Rangers on a free transfer.
