Former Rangers attacker Steven Naismith believes that Norwich teammate Graham Dorrans would be a great signing for the Ibrox giants if he completes his move.

The 30-year-old central midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Gers this summer and on Monday the  Express reported that the English Championship club’s board would meet to discuss whether to sell him to Pedro Caixinha’s side.

He is also a well known Rangers fan and it is even reported that that the 11-time capped Scotland international would be willing to take a pay cut in order to move back to Glasgow.

Now, Naismith, who knows the Gers well after spending five years at the club between 2007 and 2012 has told that he believes Dorrans could be a key player for Caixinha’s new look team.

“He’d be a massive addition to a Rangers squad in transition and could be a main player if they get him,” Naismith told BBC Scotland, as quoted by the BBC Sport website.

“He has real quality so I hope he stays because he’d be a big loss for us.”

Dorrans has had a fine career since leaving Livingston for West Brom in 2008 for a small sum of £200,000.

He has since gone on to play in 142 matches in the Premier League and last season alone he played 24 times for the eighth placed Canaries in all competitions, scoring six goals while also assisting once with injury the only preventing him from playing more.
