Mark Allen should look to raid Manchester City for five of their younger stars after reportedly completing a move to Rangers to become Ibrox’s director of football.

Telegraph correspondent Matt Law reported on his personal Twitter account earlier this week that Allen had been appointed by the Gers, which will see him leave his position as Man City academy chief.

Allen, 53, will now reportedly team up with Gers boss Pedro Caixinha as he looks to bring the right players to Auchenhowie in order to claw Old Firm rivals Celtic back from off their domestic perch in Scottish football.

Rangers have already made five signings this summer in Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso, Daniel Candeias, Dalcio and Ryan Jack, but they could now be set to continue their recruitment following Allen’s reported arrival.

This Is FutbolĀ believes Allen could return to raid his former side in order to give Rangers the best chance of catching Celtic, signing five City youngsters that would stroll into the Gers’ starting line-up and have the potential to be world-class with the right management and coaching.

Here are those five Man City stars, including one assist machine that managed to provide 19 goals while on loan last season:
