Sutton’s opinion of Gordon
Outspoken Celtic icon Chris Sutton told BT Sport following the Hoops’ Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen that he does not trust goalkeeper Craig Gordon and believes a replacement is needed this month.
Sutton’s claims over the 34-year-old then rang true during Scotland’s 2-2 draw against England in a 2018 World Cup qualifier earlier this month, as he allowed two stoppable goals to find the net.
Rodgers may now feel that bringing a new goalkeeper to Parkhead is key and Mandanda certainly offers more quality that former Sunderland stopper Gordon.
