Portugese wide forward Daniel Candeias is on the verge of joining the Rangers revolution, according to his agent.

Candeias’ agent Antonio Teixeira has confirmed that the 29-year-old is undergoing a medical with the Scottish giants in Glasgow and should complete a transfer to the club on Saturday.

“He’s doing his medicals. If everything goes right, he will sign tomorrow,” said the 29-year-old’s agent to Sport Witness on Friday night.

Candeias is currently on the books at European giants Benfica and spent the last season on loan at Turkish club Alanyaspor.

He made 30 appearances across all competitions during his temporary stint in Turkey, scoring four goals and supplying four assists.

The former Portugal Under-21 player has never played a senior game at Benfica after he signed for the Lisbon-based club following four successful years with Nacional.

Candeias rose through the youth ranks of Porto in the early day of his career but has had to endure nine different loan spells with clubs across the continent including Nurnberg, Granada and Metz.

If his agent is correct, Candeias could become Pedro Caixinha’s fifth signing since the season ended last month.

Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Fabio Cardoso and Dalcio have all been confirmed by the Glasgow giants, meaning that Candeias is lined up to become the fourth Portuguese player to sign.
