West Ham’s Lanzini set for bumper deal

|

West Ham are planning to reward attacking-midfield star Manuel Lanzini with a lucrative new contract, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claim that the 24-year-old is set to be offered a fresh long-term deal worth £50,000-per-week amid growing interest in his talents from the Premier League’s elite.

Lanzini starred for the Hammers during a disappointing season in 2016-17, contributing eight goals and two assists from 35 league appearances as he was named Players Player of the Year at the club.

His recent return follows an impressive debut campaign where he also managed seven goals and five assists from 34 appearances in all competitions, having arrived on an initial loan deal from Al-Jazira.

But his impressive form at the east London outfit has reportedly drawn attention from several of the Premier League’s top clubs, and West Ham are determined to see him stay.

Their reluctance to see Lanzini quit the club in the summer will see the Argentina international offered a new long-term deal, even though his current deal is not set to expire until 2020.

The Sun claimed at the end of last month that Premier League champions Chelsea where weighing up a potential move for the international playmaker this summer.

Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo is understood to be a keen admirer of Lanzini’s talents.
