West Ham boss Slaven Bilic should take a gamble and make a move to bring Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko to the London Stadium in the summer.

The 27-year-old midfielder recently mentioned in an interview with the print edition of French newspaper L’Equipe that he has contemplated moving away from the North London club in order to better his chances of being selected for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The France international only started eight Premier League matches for Spurs last season and he failed to score a single goal.

It appears highly unlikely that the midfielder is going to be able to play his way into the first-team next season with Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama performing so well this year.

The Frenchman needs to be playing football on a weekly basis in order to demonstrate his full potential and West Ham would be the perfect place for him.

Manager Slaven Bilic must encourage his club to push the boat out, take Sissoko off Spurs’ hands, build his team around the attacking midfielder and give him the platform to be a bona fide Premier League star.

One thing that the Hammers lacked last season was steel in the midfield especially at home where they were often bullied by the teams in the top half of the table.

Sissoko has shown that he can produce dominant displays especially when playing for the France national team but this is mainly because manager Didier Deschamps gives him more freedom, allowing the midfielder to provide a more attacking threat.

During his four year spell at Newcastle, the Frenchman used to save his best performances for the big teams and this is exactly the type of performer Bilic needs in his squad as the Hammers were convincing beaten by the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool at home last season.

The West Ham faithful would love nothing more than to sign a player from Tottenham and for that player to produce the goods and show their fierce London rivals what they have been missing.
