West Ham United are second favourites to sign Southampton speed machine Nathan Redmond, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Sky Bet have priced the East London side at 13/2 to secure the signature of the 23-year-old during the summer transfer window as they continue their chase to sign a new forward.
The Hammers are currently ahead of fellow Premier League side Manchester City who are placed at 12/1.
Liverpool are the team currently leading the way at 5/1 to sign the forward this summer.
Redmond, who is renowned for his electric pace, tasted Premier League football for the first time with Norwich City during the 2013/14 season.
The young Englishman produced some decent displays during that campaign but he was unable to prevent Norwich from being relegated back to the Championship.
The following season saw Redmond come into his own as he enjoyed a fantastic campaign, scoring seven goals and providing 13 assists.
The forward scored in Norwich’s 2-0 victory over Middlesborough in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium which saw the Canaries secure promotion back to the top tier of English football at the first attempt.
However, Redmond’s contribution was not enough as Norwich suffered a second relegation from the Premier League in three seasons.
The Englishman’s performances impressed Southampton however, and he secured a move to St Mary’s at the start of last season where he enjoyed his best Premier League campaign, scoring six goals and providing two assists.
Hammers manager Slaven Bilic has admitted he is in the market for forward reinforcements during the summer window.
