West Ham attacker Sofiane Feghouli insists he fully committed to the club ahead of the new season.

The 27-year-old attacking-midfielder endured a tough start to life at the  east London club, after sealing a transfer from European giants Valencia on a three-year-deal last summer.

Feghouli contributed just four goals and three assists from 27 appearances in all competitions as West Ham struggled to a disappointing 11th-placed finish in the Premier League.

His poor form over the course of his debut campaign endured widespread criticism from fans, and raised doubts over his long-term future at the club ahead of the 2017-18 season.

But despite the criticism and his lack of starts – just 16 of his 27 matches – Feghouli has declared has little intention to quit the club in pursuit of fresh opportunities this summer.

He told RMC Sport: “I have two years left on my contract at West Ham and as I announced on social media, I see myself staying in West Ham, and I’m back on July 10 with the team.

“I do not control everything in football but I’m not looking for a way out. I will go on a quiet holiday and prepare for a great season.

“I am open to any discussion with the manager, but there aren’t any planned. Maybe the owner will tell me one day that I have to leave, even if I don’t think so.”

The 42-time Algeria international had been strongly linked with a move to Italian Serie A side AS Roma during the January transfer window, just six months after his move to West Ham.

Then-manager Luciano Spalletti had confirmed his interest in the African star, following a Sky Sports report that the club were eyeing a loan deal.

AS Roma were also looking to include an option to sign Feghouli on a permanent deal at the end of his loan spell, but talks failed to progress and he remained a West Ham player.

But even if interest were to step up again this summer, Feghouli has denied having any interest in a move away from the club, reassuring the West Ham fans that he is here to stay.
