Tottenham attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen sent Spurs fans wild on social media after scoring for the Denmark national team in Tuesday night’s friendly match against world champions Germany.

The 25-year-old scored the opening goal of the game as Denmark had to settle for a 1-1 draw at the Brondby Stadium.

The midfielder has now scored 13 goals for his country since making his debut all the way back in 2010.

The Dane was one of the star performers for Tottenham last season and he has become a fan favourite amongst the Spurs faithful who came out in their droves on social media to congratulate Eriksen for his fine strike.

It was yet another impressive campaign for the midfielder as he made a total of 48 appearances in all competitions for Spurs last season, scoring 8 goals and providing 15 assists.

He has been one of the main reasons why the North London side have become genuine Premier League title contenders over the last couple of years.

Eriksen is still on international duty as Denmark prepare to face Kazakhstan in an important World Cup qualifier at the Almaty Central Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Denmark are currently in third position in Group E behind Poland and Montenegro.
