Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has spoken highly about Tottenham striker Harry Kane and claimed he is one of the best players in the world.

The Premier League duo, who are currently on England duty, could take to the field on Saturday when Gareth Southgate’s side play rivals Scotland in a World Cup qualifier at Hampden.

Both players recently concluded brilliant campaigns for their respective clubs, with Lallana helping Liverpool finish in the top four and Kane being a key player behind Spurs finishing as runners-up.

Kane ended the Premier League season by winning the Golden Boot award for the second season running for his 29 league goals in 30 matches.

As a result, playmaker Lallana feels that form puts Kane in the bracket as one of the top performers in world football today.

“I’ve been so impressed with him, having played against him at Tottenham and played with him for my country,” said Lallana, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo. “I think this season he’s demonstrated once again why he is one of the best players in the world

“I think his form towards the end of the season was one of the best players in the world and he’s still only 23, so he’s still young and I’m sure he’s still got a lot of learning to do.”

Despite Kane missing ten matches throughout the season because of two separate injuries, he still managed to find the back of the net on 35 occasions.

Added to that, he scored seven goals during his final two Premier League matches of the season, four goals away at Leicester and then a hat-trick against relegated Hull City on the final day.

As a result, he beat the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Diego Costa, Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez to the top prize in the goalscoring charts.
