Arsenal and Tottenham summer target Djibril Sidibe has revealed that the prospect of playing for one of the top five Premier League teams is “appealing”.

The Daily Star reported that the two North London sides were ready to battle it out alongside Manchester City this summer to land the 24-year-old France international.

Speaking with French newspaper L’Equipe, the AS Monaco full-back expressed that the Premier League is very tempting but he admitted that he would not mind staying with the Ligue 1 champions for at least one more season.

“I’m quite open but I’m currently under contract with Monaco and it wouldn’t bother me to do one more season.”

When asked about the prospect of playing the English top flight, he replied: “It’s a league which tempts me, but there have been a lot of French players who have left early or at some point in their careers which was not the right one and they pretty much disappeared.”

“The top five English teams are appealing but it’s also very complicated, even though it [the prospect of playing there] doesn’t scare me.”

Sidibe has enjoyed a sensational debut season with Monaco since moving from Ligue 1 rivals Lille in the 2016 summer transfer window.

The Frenchman made a total of 47 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring three goals and providing eight assists.

His impressive performances helped the Ligue 1 side secure their first league title in seventeen years.

Monaco recorded 95 points and finished eight clear of previous winners Paris Saint-Germain.

Sidibe also played a vital part in the club’s Champions League campaign as they reached the semi-final stage for the first time since 2004.

The Frenchman scored against Tottenham in the group stages of the competition in a 2-1 victory at the Stade Louis II.
