Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez appears adamant that he wants to bring a new goalkeeper to St James’ Park as his side return to the Premier League next season.
Pepe Reina seems to be his main target this summer with the Sun recently reporting that Newcastle are planning to sell two of their current crop of keepers to raise the funds to sign the former Liverpool man.
This is Futbol is convinced there are better options than Reina in the Spanish top flight who could produce the goods for Newcastle next season.
Benitez has spent the majority of his managerial career in La Liga so he should be aware that there are some terrific shot-stoppers currently plying their trade in Spain who would not cost the earth.
