Rafa Benitez must instruct his Newcastle scouting team to file detailed dossiers on three of Germany’s Confederations Cup side to face Cameroon on Sunday afternoon.
Germany manager Joachim Low has named an inexperienced squad to take part in the competition, with Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Julian Draxler installed as the country’s captain for the tournament.
Low’s side are almost certainties to qualify for the semi-finals of the eight-nation cup, as they currently sit level on points with first-placed Chile and three points above Australia and Cameroon.
Benitez has been reportedly linked with a whole host of players ahead of the summer transfer window as he looks to mould a squad capable of avoiding relegation from the Premier League following last season’s promotion.
