The footballing world has been shocked by the reports that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is looking to end his eight-year spell at the Bernabeu this summer.

Sky Sports correspondent Kaveh Solhekol reported on his official Twitter account that the 32-year-old forward has informed the La Liga champions that he wants to leave following recent controversy over his tax payments in Spain.

The bookmakers have jumped straight onto the story and Ronaldo is currently regarded by bookies as likely to complete a sensational return back to the Premier League and once again put on the Manchester United shirt.

Since departing Old Trafford in the summer of 2009, United fans have always believed that the Portuguese magician would return and brace Manchester with his footballing genius one more time before hanging up his boots.
