James Rodriguez agrees personal terms with Manchester United

Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez has agreed personal terms with Manchester United this summer, according to Diario Gol.

The Spanish publication claims that the 25-year-old attacking midfielder has defied orders from Madrid club president Florentino Perez and agreed terms with the Manchester giants behind his back.

James has reportedly threatened the Spanish giants that he will refuse to leave the club unless they sanction his move to the Premier League.

The report also claims that the deal is far from finalised as the La Liga champions are demanding a fee around £70million for the Colombian this summer.

It is understood that Serie A giants AC Milan are also interested in securing the midfielder’s signature but they are plotting a loan deal with an option to buy James the following season as they cannot match Madrid’s current asking price.

James is destined to leave the Bernabeu this summer after failing to impress current manager Zinedine Zidane throughout the course of the season.

The Colombian was left out of the matchday squad for the Champions League final against Juventus at the end of the campaign.

Although the midfielder was not a regular starter for Madrid last season, he still managed to contribute with 11 goals and 13 assists in all competitions.

James’ current contract at the Bernabeu runs out in the summer of 2020.
