Inter Milan have started their search for possible replacements for Ivan Perisic in a major transfer boost to Manchester United, according to a Gazetta Dello Sport report.

The Italian news outlet claims the club’s new manager, Luciano Spalletti, who will take the reins this week, wants to hold onto the 28-year-old Croatian ace “at all costs”.

However, it is said that if Perisic does leave, the club have identified Sassuolo winger Domenico Beradi and Federico Bernardeschi of Fiorentina as possible replacements.

This is a boost to United’s chance of landing the highly rated Perisic.

It comes after Calciomercato reported that Inter had accepted a bid of £45million from the the Premier League club for Perisic, after an initial £26million offer was turned down.

It is said a move to Old Trafford would double the 28-year-old winger’s yearly salary from £2million to £4million.

The Croatian ace was the star of Inter’s Serie A campaign last term, scoring 11 goals and providing 11 assists in 36 appearances.

He joined the club in the summer of 2015 for £16million from VfL Wolfsburg, and has since gone on to play 79 league and cup games, scoring 20 goals and supplying 18 assists.

However, despite his best efforts Inter only managed a seventh-place finish in Serie A, a massive 29 points behind champions Juventus.

Perisic has been capped 56 times by Croatia, scoring 16 goals, his last appearance coming in a 3-0 friendly defeat to Estonia in March of this year.
