Paris Saint-Germain are set to make a stunning £60million-plus offer for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, according to the Times.

The newspaper claims that the French outfit are planning to rebuild their squad after missing out on the Ligue 1 title for the first time in four seasons to rivals AS Monaco and they believe that the 29-year-old forward is the marquee signing to lead them in the right direction.

The report claims that the Ligue 1 side are confident that the Argentinian wants to leave the Etihad after new boss Pep Guardiola made him second choice to new recruit Gabriel Jesus in the second half of last season.

The Times also report that the French giants are willing to make him the most important player at the club and they are also prepared to offer him an increase on his £220,000 weekly wage.

It is understood that City are not planning to offer the Argentinian a new contract but Guardiola is adamant that Aguero will remain at the Etihad next season.

The report claims that a possible move depends on City’s recruitment plans as Guardiola wants to sign a new striker this summer, with Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez the number one target.

Aguero was fantastic for City last season, scoring a total of 33 goals in 45 appearances in all competitions.

The striker has enjoyed great success in Manchester since his move in 2011, picking up two Premier League titles and two League Cup trophies.

The Argentinian’s contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in 2019.
