Celtic are one of three clubs interested in signing versatile Liverpool defender Joe Gomez this summer, according to the Sun,

The newspaper claim that Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers wants to lure the 20-year-old to Scotland next season after previously working with him during his three-year spell in charge at Anfield.

The Sun report that Premier League duo Brighton and Bournemouth are also keeping close tabs on the highly rated youngster, who can play at either centre-back or full-back.

It is said that Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is keen on buying Gomez permanently for £10million permanent or taking him on a season-long loan.

Rodgers brought Gomez to Liverpool from Charlton in the summer of 2014 and gave him a series of starts at left-back in that season, but the player has suffered two serious injuries, including a devastating knee problem, and failed to make an impression under Jurgen Klopp.

The England Under-21 international made just three senior appearances last season, with all of them coming in the FA Cup.
