Arsenal are looking to secure a double deal worth £5million for two of Sunderland’s brightest young stars, according to the Sunderland Echo.

The newspaper reported on their website that the Gunners are ready to table the offer in the hope that it will help convince the Black Cats to part with their bright prospects Joel Asoro and Benjamin Mbunga-Kimpioka.

Asoro is an 18-year-old Swedish forward with first team experience, having made his debut as a substitute in a 2-1 defeat at home to North West rivals in August 2016, becoming Sunderland’s youngest ever Premier League player.

However, the Gunners may have to fight for the youngster’s signing, with the Sunderland Echo reporting that they will face competition from Premier League rivals Everton and Liverpool, among others.

They are also hopeful of securing Asoro’s club and international compatriot Mbunga-Kimpioka, with the 17-year-old winger held in high regards among the management at the Stadium of Light.

The youngster was signed from Swedish side Sirius in the summer of 2016 and turned 17 earlier this year, but may not get a run out for the senior side if the North London club get their way.

Sunderland may be looking towards their youngsters to make an impact next season following their relegation to the Championship, as they look to significantly reduce their wage bill.
