Romario Vieira has posted a heartfelt message on Twitter to coach Jason Blunt who left Leeds earlier this month.

The Yorkshire giants confirmed on their official club website that Blunt had left his position as Leeds’ Under-23 head coach, three years after first joining the Championship outfit.

Vieira, the younger brother of Leeds’ first-team midfielder Ronaldo Vieira, revealed on his personal Twitter account that it was a “great experience” working with Blunt since moving to Elland Road last summer.

Blunt, 39, has now joined South West Peninsula League One side Mousehole AFC, where he will take up the role of head of academy as he relocates nearer his birthplace of Penzance.

The coach was brought to Yorkshire to replace Richard Naylor as Leeds’ Under-18 manager, and even aided Neil Redfearn during his short interim spell in charge as Leeds manager towards the end of the 2014-15 season.

Blunt was the hired to take charge of Leeds’ second string, before the appointment of Daral Pugh saw him demoted to work alongside John Anderson with the Under-18 side in 2015.

However, he re-assumed his position as development manager in 2016 following the appointment of former manager Garry Monk, who has since resigned and taken over at relegated side Middlesbrough.

Now, the Whites will be looking to hire a replacement for Blunt, as Leeds continue their managerial shake-up following Monk’s resignation.
