Everton have sent scouts to watch Charlton youngster Ezri Konsa in action, according to News Shopper.

The news outlet report that the Toffees are set to monitor the performances of the 19-year-old during his international duties for the England Under-20 side at the ongoing World Cup in South Korea.

Konsa was called into action by manager Paul Simpson as a late addition two weeks’ ago, but has remained unused in the England squad as they prepare to face Mexico in the quarter-finals on Monday.

Everton have been keeping an eye on the player throughout the tournament, but his lack of appearances is not likely to boost the youngster’s chances of sealing a move to the Merseyside outfit this summer.

Premier League rivals Arsenal are also understood to have sent scouts to the Far East, while Konsa is keen to earn more regular first-team football next season.

The centre-back made 32 appearances for Charlton in League One during the 2016-17 campaign, but is seeking a fresh challenge despite agreeing to a new three-year deal in March.

His desire for a change of scene could see Everton re-open their connections with Charlton, after doing business in January to acquire the signature of highly-rated winger Ademola Lookman.

The 19-year-old, who is also on international duty with England’s Under 20 side, moved to Goodison Park in a £11million deal during the winter transfer window.

He has since made eight first-team appearances for the Toffees, with Everton scouts also likely to be in South Korea to monitor their current star.
