Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has still not reached an agreement to sign a new contract at the club, according to the Times.

The newspaper claims that negotiations over the summer have stalled and the 25-year-old could potentially start the 2017-18 campaign without reaching a new deal with the Premier League champions.

The Times reports that the Belgian goalkeeper is currently earning £100,000-a-week but he is looking to double his salary to be on a par with Manchester United and Spain number one David de Gea.

This wage increase would mean that the Belgium international would become the highest paid player at the club alongside teammate Eden Hazard.

Courtois has two years remaining on his current contract at Stamford Bridge but he reportedly believes a wage increase is completely justified as he has helped the Blues secure two Premier League titles in just three seasons.

The Belgian was in sensational form for Chelsea last season, making a total of 39 appearances in all competitions and keeping 17 clean sheets in the process.

Courtois also picked up his first ever Premier League Golden Glove award as he achieved 16 shutouts last season.

The shot-stopper has enjoyed great success during his career at Stamford Bridge, winning two league titles and a securing a League Cup.
